A date has finally been set! I'm so happy we don't have to wait as long as we have to for PC!!!:D

According to Comingsoon.net, Disney has announced the release date for Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Fortunately for Narnia fans, the wait won't be quite as long as it was for Prince Caspian. The release date is set for May 1, 2009, a little less than a year after Prince Caspian is released.

I am very happy that VDT is moving forward. The story of Eustace the Dragon is timeless. I am sure we won't know if SC and HHB will get the ok till Disney knows PC is a success. :D

You might jynx it.:D So happy!!!*does victory dance* And I heard somewhere...don't ask me where...that they are indeed starting on SC as soon as PC is done.:D The only problem with this speedy movie-making stuff is, we won't have anything to look forward to on this site any more!!!:eek: But oh well, sacrifices must be made.^_^

I'm excited to see it the movies they come out with. I hope they'll be good. We'll see. VDT is my fave and I'll be pretty critical of that one.

No. I think they should totally make LB right after SC. LB is a continuation from SC. sorta. but it'd make more sense if LB came next rather than MN or HHB.

i think they should wait and have LB last, since it is the last in the series. I kind of wish SC and LB would be the last 2 movies, since they ARE the last two, but they can't do that since they have to get Eustace while he's still young.

All that has been set so far is the dates for PC and VDT, which are May 2008 and May 2009, and then they have said they will make at least one more, SC. If they continue to be financially successful, they will make others ... but no one has committed to that yet.

I am glad we have only a year after PC to wait for VDT, but I prefer a December release than a summer one. :(

Oh well, I love VDT, and I hope it wil be good. Do you think William and Susan might be in it a little, like at the beginning, the way they added that bit about the London blitz to the beginning of LWW? That would be good, I think.

No way! They have to have LB Last, because it ends the story!

It might be they'll add a farewell thingie where the four split (Peter goes to school/Susan goes to America/etc...) But who knows.

VDT is the book I like the least, so I don't really care if they mess it up or not. All I'm worried about is the ending, my favorite part of the book when they meet up again with Aslan.

HHB is my least favorite. i sitll want them to do a good job though. i have to wait until the LAST MOVIE to see my favorite of the series-LB. i LOOOVE that one.

I think that if they don't get VDT right it's gonna really hurt if not kill the rest of the series. There's an old saying that when you start something like this that you have proverbial change in your pocket and you can spend it and you can make more depending on what you do.

A little change was spent with LWW with the minor changes they made here and there...few of the changes were regarded as great even if we understood why they were done the way they were. From the looks of the blog for PC, there will be a significant amount of change spent on that movie as well. We'll see. If they spend too much change in VDT, I doubt that the fans will keep up. They haven't done a ton to make up for any change lost. So, we'll see what happens, but I think VDT will be very telling. I'm glad we won't have to wait so long for it. It's about 2 years away.
