Which of the series of Narnia should I pick up first? They're prettyexpensive if I were to buy them all seperately, as it is the same for buying the whole thing. I'd rather have a book at a time... Which should I get? Should I find the book of LWW first, and read it to go along with this movie I just watched? Or should I read the others? (sorry if this has been asked before, I'm kinda new to C.S. Lewis' work and the stuff here)

You should really buy them as a whole set and then just read in publishing order.
You kind find the books pretty cheap (I bought my set recently for about 30 dollars softcover)

I would recommend reading the books in this order -
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
The Horse and His Boy
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
The Magicians Nephew
The Last Battle
They are in chronological order except "The Magicians Nephew". I thought it would be good to read how Narnia began just before one sees how it ends.
Right now The Chronicles of Narnia are a hot item. Until recently you could of picked up a used set super cheap at eBay. Now people are bidding like crazy on them. Still, for fourteen dollars you can get the The Chronicles of Narnia in a large paperback edition on eBay. I don't think this volume has any illustrations in it. This is the least expensive way to get all the stories unless you have a well stocked public library nearby. My own advice -beg, borrow or steal so you can buy a seven volume set in hardback. The paper and bindings are much better then those of the paperback editions. They will last you a lifetime. These are stories you will want to read again and again every year.

I agree with muddpuddles order of reading. But i would read The Magicians nephew first to get a grasp about how everything you saw in the Movie LWW came to be, such as the lamp post.

Publications Order:
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950)
Prince Caspian (1951)
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952)
The Silver Chair (1953)
The Horse and His Boy (1954)
The Magicians Nephew (1955)
The Last Battle (1956)
According to Lewis's stepson:
The Magicians Nephew
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
The Horse and His Boy
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
The Last Battle
I think its better for you to read the Magicians Nephew first to understand some background info to TLWW ... but thats just a suggestion.. do whatever you please ^_^ !! oh and Sam's Club deifntely sells the whole series for pretty cheap !

well.. it was a good book.. but idk if i can actually say its the "best" ? its hard to cuz all of them are pretty good books.. TLWW, Prince Caspian, The Last Battle had a certain appeal to them tho.. but thats just in my opinion..
