so what exactly or should I say how does one respond to a casting call? What exactly do you send in for a first audition...that kind of thing?

There's a new casting director for VDT and her name is Nina Gold. All interested people in auditions should contact her rather than Pippa Hall (Hint, Hint Abright5 and Office). Blessings to all in their quest to be in a Narnia movie.

Cool! Can't wait! :D Although I really wanna audition for Jill!!! *cries* Seriously.. I wonder when they're gonna hold it. Wait, does Eustace really have to be fat like in the BBC movie or thin like in the book? O.o Hmm.. Wonder who will play the rest of the characters like Ramandu's daughter, Coriakin, Ramandu, the seven (well, six :p) lords, etc. O_O

well, Jill is in SC rather than VDT. The auditions will probably be all over for a long time...doubtful that they'll be open with the shooting of the film starting in January. Eustace's look can vary quite a bit as long as he's a British boy who looks younger than Georgie and Skandar. They might try to find someone who looks like he could be releated to Georgie and Skandar. Also, I'm sure they'll have casting announcements here and there as people are chosen. We'll find out soon enough.

I'm very excited that they're releasing this movie so close to PC.
LWW came out in December 2005, and then we have to wait until May 16, 2008 for the second one. That's practically two and a half years. That's A LONG TIME.
So I'm really glad that we only have to wait not even a year for the third one! Even if Will won't be in it ;)

I wonder if music has been composed yet for "Voyage"?
While I have no complaints with the music from LWW, "Voyage" seems to be the time for an altogether different musical mood. It is, after all, the only Narnian book in which no action takes place on the soil of Narnia proper. And I know a group that could provide suitable music.
They're called "The Rogues," and they perform at Renaissance fairs and Scottish festivals. They play bagpipes and other instruments, and compose some of their own tunes. I recommend them strongly!

~Lava~
07-01-2007, 04:13 PM
Because he is supposed to be younger than Lucy, if you will read the book LB you will note that Jill and Eustace are definitely called the youngest, and Lewis makes a point to say that they are the only ones still in school.

I think it says somewhere in Dawn Treader that Eustace is a year younger than Lucy. In any event, it does say in Last Battle (as ~LJ Ava~ points out) that at that time Jill and Eustace were the only ones still in school.

There doesn't need to be another thread for the casting of the role of Eustace, especially in the Hunt for the White Stag area...thus imerge.
We know that Eustace is younger than Lucy because it wouldn't make any sense for Aslan to tell Lucy and Edmund that they were too old and not Eustace if he weren't younger than the Pevensies. But we already have another thread on the age of Eustace and potential actors to play him.
Bummer Jordan...you wanted to try out for that role. Sorry that you don't have your parent's backing on that one. It would be cool if a member got to audition from here...I don't know that Alex heard back from Nina at all...Pippa sent his info to her, but you'd have to ask him if he's heard anything yet. Let's hope so.

I don't know what Michael Apted is looking for in his ideas for who he would like to have cast in each role. From what I've heard there are a lot of English boys being auditioned and they're looking for a very specific kind of English accent. I don't know more than that though.

I just watched the trailer for The Waterhorse the other day, and I just realized that the kid in that movie, Alex Etel (he was in Millions, too) would be a good candidate. Except he, like Anna Popplewell's brother, is older than Georgie. But I think by only a year, though

He did? I really need to see that movie...my Mom said it was really powerful. If that was good, I'm sure VDT will be good too, and keep the values of the original book.

In a new MySpace blog entry, KNB EFX guru Howard Berger mentions that work on Prince Caspian is now complete and he will be taking a short break before beginning work on The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Filming on Dawn Treader will begin in late January. First up in the locations this time will be the island nation of Malta, as expected, followed by Prague and Iceland. Previous reports suggested that filming in Antarctica might be on the cards, but it now seems that Iceland will be used instead.

Second, ICELAND!? Oh my stars are you serious!? I lived there! Wouldn't it be cool if they filmed a place where I've been? Okay, I know that's pushing it, but still....
And as far as snow, there are lots of places where there isn't any snow. Basically, the country is a volcano. And they do have some neat things like hot springs and a pretty amazing waterfall... is there a waterfall on an island in the book? Oh my word! I just remembered a spot we went to as a family that would be perfect for where Eustice becomes a dragon!!!!!
Anyway, *calms down* maybe that's what they're doing.

Astrid Lindgren's Bröderna Lejonhjärta (Brothers Lionheart) was basically all filmed in Iceland
Stardust was partially filmed in Iceland (Hafnarfjörður and Höfn)
Beowulf & Grendel (with Gerard Butler and Stellan Skarsgård) was filmed in Iceland
I'm sure there are tons of other films that have been filmed in Iceland. I lived there for 5 months last year - AWESOME country! :D It'd be an excellent place to film some VDT scenes at!

OH! I was watching the BBC version of Dickens' Bleak House in English class today, and I realized that one of the actresses, Carey Mulligan, might possibly make a great Ramandu's Daughter. (I've also seen her in the BBC's My Boy Jack, and I must say, she is a brilliant actress! Oh, and she's also in Pride & Prejudice w/ Keira Knightley--she plays Kitty Bennet.)
