I wonder why they let the White stag free instead of just plain huntind it down?!

I don't really understand your question. Are you wondering why they didn't just kill it, instead of following it back to the wardrobe?

I don't think they ever caught the White Stag - they got distracted by their return to the wardrobe.

Now - that is scary! To do what?!

But seriously - I think they weren't able to do anything ... like when you are mesmerized by something... hypnotized by what you see ... something so out of this or Narnia world... so beautiful that all you can do just stare  ...
Never had that happen to you?

I'm not sure but I think they couldn't catch it. Besides, they weren't hunting it to kill it! It was like a leprechaun or a genie; if you caught it, it gave you wishes. I wonder if maybe it was really a white stag or Aslan in another form leading them back to their home.

Good Question. I never thought about that before. It could very well have been Aslan because in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, he takes the shape of a lamb and several other accounts as well were he takes shapes of other animals. It's kinda neat to think that it might have been Aslan!

I wouldn't doubt it! It was their time to go home, and what's the differece in leading them back to War Drobe and Spare Oom, or making a door in the air?
It's funny! How they always talk about how the name Aslan makes people feel in the books, ya know? I feel that. Probably cause I know who Aslan really is, and His name gives me a lovely feeling!

If you mean why did they switch from searching for the stag to going towards the wardrobe its in the book. Lucy and Peter both recognize the lamp post vaguely but they all find it very odd. Edmund shares his thought that journeying forward past the lamp post will lead them on a dangerous adventure. Susan insists that for that reason they should remount their horses and continue in the hunt. Then Peter says he has never yet been accused of being a coward and he does not wish to be now especially being High King of Narnia. They all agree to follow this path and take whatever adventure Aslan brings them. As they get farther they start remembering more (Hence in the movie lucy's spare oom reference and susan's line "they're coats") Within a few moments they are back through the wardrobe. Hope that answers your questions.

Imagine of they caught the Stag and he granted them a wish, and they wished for a whole new country...and the Stag would grant the wish only if he could be king and call it....

Stag Nation

Of course then they would have to kill him

We dropped a pun, which in some countries is a very serious offense.

What?! What happened? Did someone say something bad?

Only when the pun itself is a very serious offense!

(Just kidding, y'all. If certain members want to display their - er - "senses of humor" by such postings, I'll just groan my way past them...)

Thanx, Timmy -- I was just going to do that.

Mods can ony police so far ... if someone makes a bad pun, it would be polite if we all just looked the other way ... :p

And besides, Narnia itself was established with a rather dry pun so why sohuld we complain? ;)

Welcome, Matthew -- I didn't notice you posting before today. Your avi is the same as PoTW's, so I might have just thought it was he.
