Narnia Online?

I think a narnia online should be made. Like lord of the rings online. Where you can make your own character and explore the world of narnia and all the other places like archenland and stuff that would be awesome. It would make a great online rpg. what do you guys think?

omg! yes! a narnia rpg would be amazing. especially if it was a huge online multiplayer game much like warcraft or something where you could log in and explore narnia and all surrounding areas while engaging in small wars or side quests. :D

I think it would be cool, and all, but I don't know about some big online multi-people whatever. I have found that a lot of times, people aren't always so respectful on those types of things. That's my opinion, anyway. :p

That actually sounds like a great idea! I think it should be set during the Golden Age of Narnia or during the time between LWW and PC (maybe during the Telmarine Invasion). You could select to be a human, a nymph/dryad, dwarf, animal, etc. and either complete regular quests or join up in a massive multiplayer battle event.

This idea has a lot of possibilities to it, and would be awesome to play. Just do long as they don't start putting in charachters who lived 100's of years apart and messing up the timeline it would make an awesome game!

The only thing that would be bad about an online RPG, it might be expensive. I know that Star Wars Galaxies is kinda like that and it costs like 190 or so dollars a yr to play. That it too crazy for me. I don't have the game, but I heard it is cool. Don't play alot of SW stuff. Don't have time, but narnia would be awesome

i'm a great fan of mmo's and i think that a narnia rpg has the potential to go far. the only problem with mmo's is that you get the occasional bad gamers who join the game simply for the sake of making other players' lives hell and since they'd be paying customers it would be very hard to ban them. As for the timeline, i don't think it should be so easy to screw it up if you play the game somewhere like midway through the series. That way practically anyone can appear in some way or another... another thing that might be hard would be the creation of the entire narnian world(imagine how big Calormen would have to be!!!!! :eek: )

Otherwise if these problems could be ironed out and the gameplay was good enough... i'd be the first to apply :D

most likely the people who bought the license for the games that were made this Christmas. a petition however is not enough. they will only make the game if it promises good money and so it's very hard to tell whether they'll accet or not. I'm in now way discouraging it but in the words of the Lion himself, 'it might not be as simple as you think' ;)

Yeah online Narnia would be awesome- one problem I don't know how to play RPG's although i would learn if they created online NArnia.

unless the game is fan made, most likely it will fall on the companies who did the games for the movie of LWW. but i doubt it will happen until they get enough hype from the Caspian movie. At the moment most of the new fans are still too new to the stories to actually want an online game in my opinion so it wouldn't be financially viable for any company... YET... ;)

I love RPG's, even tho i have only played one, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It was a great game, but definitely not a star wars "collector", but the game seemed interesting.

Like i said earlier, as long as the price for Narnia online wasn't sky high, I'd prolly be in.

I want a Narnia RPG that is not super expensive and is not like Neopets or anything like that. I absolutely hate message board RPG. I played that game for like 5 years and I am sick and tired of it. I am thinking Disney should make the RPG cause they are making a POTC RPG and if it doesn't cost I will be getting it but knowing Disney it is probably gonna cost like ToonTown which totally stinks. If they did do one then I would call it Narnia And Beyond or something along those lines cause there is Narnia, Archenland, Calormen, The Lone Islands, and you get to explore Aslan's Country and a bunch of other places. That would just be absolutely amazing i would pay $100 a year for that if it was perfect.

I heard all of you would love a Narnia RPG. I have made a Harry Potter RPG before, so I would willingly make one for you guys.

The only problem is it may take some time to come up, but it doesn't cost any money at all. It is open to the public, but it is really hard to find it unless someone tells you where to go, so I'm guessing we will only be getting die hard fans.

Just warning you that I'm not the best lol, but I can try. If there is anyone out there that would love to help me, or is an excellent writer. i.e the plot line for the RPG I would really enjoy working with you.

I can also help someone if they want, you knwo we could be partners or I could just give you the website and a low down on how to make one, if you don't want me to be a part of it.

I have began this anyway, and it's only now that I have realised what an undertaking this is going to be. I will need some major help, if anyone is willing. I would love people with ideas, and that enjoy Narnia.

I don't know everything about narnia, and I don't read the books too often, but I just wanted to make this so we could have fun and enjoy. I don't even mind, being second in command to someone. lol. I can look after the look of the site and get it running, I will also help with all of the storylines. It's just I have a massive workload at school, and I know I will be on at a different time to everyone else because the majority of you will be from USA.

But with that, I would like to know who would like to help me, or order me around (lol) and if anyone could give me any suggestions I'm willing. :)

I started making a mod for neverwinter nights called Narnia online which was pretty good but not very good. We need one like LOTRO (lord of the rings online) which looks incredible. We should get some company like NCsoft (made Guildwars, Lineage II, City of Heroes etc.) to make it. But i doubt they would. It's great to see so many people think it is a good idea.

well ive not heard anything else about this 2d rpg someone was making :P also, i can help make one, if you have ever played never winter nights that has a great program with it where you can make your own rpg. I started making narnia online, you start at lantern waste and so far you can go from there to the white witches castle and thats it, theres 2 or 3 quests and a few monsters to kill. Also, if it was made, please not like runescape ^^ its rubbish, 2d is fine but not like runescape, also, i think some companies might make it.

also, if you want to make a website make it on whatever you want (freewebs,741 etc.) then go to www.dot.tk and you can change the name to www.<yournamehere>.tk which is easier to remember, its free but you have an advert at the start (you can skip it though)

K I know something that a few of us with time to spare could do. Download RPG Maker XP here (http://www.download.com/RPG-Maker-XP/3000-7537_4-10439795.html?tag=lst-0-1) and we could work together and we could make the game.

Now im not totaly sure on how to make it a MMORPG but my friend said something about haveing a host and everyone connected to that host some how. lol sorry if i cant be much help with that part but im sure someone could figure it out.

thats a very good game even tho the graphics arent amazing and i was playing when it was in early stages and was very fun with only a few players. i think it would be good with just us ppl on the forums :) and also, rpg maker didnt work for me last time i did it.

Saying for 6 pages "It would rock" or "Its cool" does absolutely nothing. Someone should actually start doing something, like give the idea to the director or someone, and then send it to a game maker, like EA or THQ.

I suggest the person who started the post get a website up and running! Oggycheese, go to www.freewebs.com or www.proboards.com to start a website to promote the game. next, we need to start on game production, Blender(3D) and Gamemaker(2D) are freeware. but I suggest someone buys the full version of gamemaker so you can unlock multiplayer. its about $20.00. Irregardless of who makes it, creating a top-notch game like this requires a tremendous investment in coding. No one person can do it, it tkes a team of like-minded gaming programmers working together to make sure every detail of a vast created world is consistent wherevevr you go in it. (The server hardware requirements are also not trivial.) This is why the best online games cost hundreds of $$$ a year to participate in.

I've only done one RP and I just started it. I think you guys are talking about like a game, not an RPG because an RPG is when you pretend you're an actual character and you set up situations with other people...that made no sense...but whatver!

I'm trying to think...If we each have characters from the book, then there's only so many people that can be in. If we have it as, say, you are either a faun or something, we can have as many people as we have memory space for. The only problem is fitting it into the storyline.

unfortunately i really don't have any kind of experience creating games but why don't start with something online a little more light?

It could be a online strategy game or a build~and~grow~your~character~and~then~explore~lan d~and~fight~other~characters type of game. the type of games where you have and develop resources and that kind of stuff.

Since i'm from Portugal i might have some difficulty in express myself in English. But i have this idea that everyone is thinking 3D mode or big screen resumption mode or big image effects and stuff.
