Is anyone else a fan of this? And wish to talk about it?

hmm, all i know is that i started the book and didn't finish. Mainly because the thought of a baby with massive choppers biting off fingers and liking the taste of blood on its day of birth. Yeah, thats freaky. ha ha. The musical might be cool to see though, i doubt i'd get as scared at my late age and all.

PS i didn't want you to feel lonely with yourself in this thread

Ha Ha! I did not care for the begining myself. Other reasons though. But I did love the rest of the book. I'm also reading the second one about her son.

oh interesting. Yeah, i just never got past that stuff. I'm busy reading the historian right now, but thats a slow and painful process for me as i'm in college with too much to think about so my reading time is next to nill, and that bums me out majorly.

Ah College. I will be starting up again in college on Jan. 9th. Going for Computer art. But Yes I can see how that is a problem.

I'm waiting right not to order my Wicked tickets. I'm so happy....*dances around*

i'm so jealous...

they're performing in colorado in feb (which i think is about as close as it'll ever get from where i live) but i don't think i can blow off a few days of school to see it... i also like "what is this feeling" a lot...

I just happen to be listening to the Wicked soundtrack right now. I love almost all the songs. I haven't seen it yet or read the book but my friend has and I'm waiting to borrow the book from her. She's also lent me the soundtrack.

The weird thing is, I've never seen Wicked but it's my second favorite musical/Broadway show. I wish I could go but tickets are too expensive and I have no car to get to Toronto which is the closest show to me. Anyone who's seen it has to tell me how it was.

Good musical, one of the best.

Saw it in San Fran, I would completely recommend it if you havent seen it!

Nothing like the book though. Personally, I like the musical version better...much more happy..

Fav song is dancing through life. The guy voice who sings it on the cd reminds me of clay aiken..haha!

WhiteWitchMeeka
12-17-2005, 06:28 PM
*laughs* Clay? I don't think Norbie sounds like him.

It's so cool to find others that love it, just as much as me. I feel I can connect with Elphaba alot. That's why I love the musical and book. I also really love Nessarose too. I like in the book how they made it she was more Wicked than Elphaba.

I absoulutly love Wicked! I can't watch the Wizard of Oz the same way again! I ahven't seen the live performance, but I have friends who went to see it in NY, and they LOVED it. I am seeing it in August 2006 when it comes to Orange County...somewhat near to me! I'm very excited! I also have a bootlegged version, that has basically the whole show..but I can't watch it.

I love Wicked! I've read the book, own the soundtrack and have seen the musical in new york (I absolutely loved it!). I just about cried after Defying Gravity, don't ask me why, it was just so amazing! All of the songs are amazing and besides Defying Gracity of course, some of my favorites are I'm Not That Girl, For Good, and well basically the whole soundtrack... do you realize how low that last note in I'm Not That Girl is? Idina Menzel has an amazing range!

Okay everyone, I have a question for you.
My friend (WillsGirl) and I are going to the same fine arts camp this year and would like to audtion a duet from Wicked for the talent show. We are considering What Is This Feeling? and For Good. The interesting part is those two extremely different songs fit the two of us perfectly. What Is This Feeling? is like the very beginning of our friendship and For Good is like our current friendship (except for the seperation part). I was wondering which one you guys think would be best. One's hilarious, the other beautiful, and we love both! And by the way, do any of you happen to know of Firespark!? Unlikely, but I had to ask.
THANKS!

For Good has more meaning, but What Is This Feeling? is funnier. think about what your auidience wants....personally, me and my friend Katie (i have to get her on here...) are doing What Is This Feeling for the school showcase. very select, but we made it last year.

any way, consider teh audience.

unseen_dreams
12-31-2005, 05:36 PM
Well, thanks but the thing is that half the audience is crazy wacko and the other half is in love with music or very dramatic and deep so it's hard to say which would be best rececived.
Oh and I was curious what you and your friend are using for accopaniment, I know there's a karaoke cd, if you're using that does it have the chorus on it? That would affect our decision.
Anybody else have an opinion?

WillsGirl
12-31-2005, 05:54 PM
Oh good question!!!!
Some help here?
Oh by the way Michelle I was thinking that we might could do one of the songs for musical theatre?

I am quite guilty to own the bootlegged version as well, lol. I couldn't resist and I watched it, ruining the WHOLE bloody experience, but it's ok, cause I know it's a completely different shindig when you see it live.

I'll be seeing you in Orange County, lol. Tickets go on sale in July! Yay!

My *cough* bootlegged is actually a CD....so I haven't seen it, which is good!

Ok! We should see it the same night!! How fun would that be! Narnia and Wicked fans in the same theatre!

Thanks for the input!
Ironically we went with For Good because it was a bit difficult for us to sing so... I don't know being mad at each other. (Except when we were just having fun IN character!) But our parents really wanted us to do For Good.
The other thing is it kind of makes us go outside of our comfort zones because the Saprono Part (Glinda/ME) goes lower than usual and the alto part (Elphy/Unseen_Dreams) goes higher than usual. Plus it was easier to get the sheet music and we don't have to have a little chorus.
You know in WITF there's that... "Poor Galinda forced to reside..." etc
Anyway I LOVE the music and I think my favs are: For good, Popular, What is this Feeling?, and Not That Girl.

WICKED!!!

My favorite Broadway musical, tied with RENT and Hairspray.

I saw this in NY in October! And in March,I was at the Arnoff Center in Cincinnatti for 3 hours trying every way possible to get tickets, but I didn't get any...we may go to Colombus next summer, though. But,I REALLY wanna drive the 12 hours to Toronto to se Megan Hilty again as Glinda. She's like, the best Glinda ever.Seriously.Look her up on YouTube. And rumor is that shoshana Bean will be Elphaba alongside her for Toronto,Portland, and Seattle. But just those 3 stops.WHYYYY can't Shoshana come back to CCM for a visit? And do a concert?Because,I really wanna go see HER again, too. She is amAHzing!
