if u could meet one character who would it be?
eustace
06-19-2004, 12:17 PM
hmm...
the obvious answer is aslan...
but i don't think you could meet aslan just like that; he chooses the time... you couldn't make an appointment with him.
it's actually quite a difficult question. i'd really like to meet any of them...
maybe digory and polly...
agh! i can't answer... sorry!

Aside from Aslan, I'd probably meet Susan and try to talk some sense into her. That girl has much to learn.

Probably Roonwit the Centaur or Jewel. One of those horse-types... don't tell Roonwit I called him a "horse-type." I hear centaurs are very easily insulted.

Oh, we wonders where you heard that, yess preciouss, we does. From Harry Potter, perhaps? ;) Any how, I think I'd like to meet Prof. Ketterly or Dr. Cornelius, so I could learn all they know, haha!

I'm not sure I can answer this! Too tough.
Well Aslan is a dead give away, he would be my first pick.
However, lions aside I would want to meet Edmund or High King Peter.
And a close second would be Fledge, as long as he would give me a ride!

The character that I would wanna meet is Lucy, because she seems like a spirited girl who feels that something may be coming true. B)

If I have to choose, it would be Lucy every time. She was always my favourite character; I'd love to meet her as an adult when ruling Narnia, though.
Second choice is Aslan, of course, then Peter.

I would want to meet Puddleglum, definately, Trumpkin the dwarf, and eustace and edmund to hear what they had to say about their life-changing experiences.
The most important one to me would be Aslan. I would do anything to meet Him in real life. Honestly. I don't know who wouldn't.

Aslan of course because he always seemed so safe even if he wasn't a tame lion. Mmmm and then maybe Diggory? Or Edmund because I'd want to know how it felt when he betrayed everyone or just, what his experience was.

I think I would do almost anything desperate to AVOID meeting Aslan. When I was little, he terrified me, and even now I don't think he would like me very much.
As for who I'd like to meet... that's a hard question. I'd like to meet the adult version of Lucy. I'd like to meet that girl from the Horse and His Boy whose name I can't remember right now. (I think it's Avaris?) I'd also like to meet just about any centaur or talking animal.

....I know its not like they...um..are a specific character, but i've always dreamed of meeting the dryads....they sound so enchanting and mystical like..i think they are one of my fav. things that loius described in the books. There is something about them that captures me..i dunno...I would just like to step into Narnia, and go to that place where Lucy saw them in PC, and have them come to life before my eyes..that would be awsome!

I, personally, would love to meet two characters.
First, I would love to meet Eustace. I find my own life closly mirroring that of his. I would love to discuss (as he stated) not how he became a dragon but how he became not a dragon.
Secondly, I would love, love, love to meet Reepicheep. Such a mouse of valor. A perfect example of how stories like The Chronicles and LOTR contain such heroes of honesty and and true masculinity (and yes , femininity) that they should be read and reread to our children. Reepicheep is such a character. I admire him greatly

There are scores of characters from books and movies I would love to meet. Regarding Chronicles of Narnia, Aslan is (like almost everyone else) the first choice for me - he is omniscient and, like in TMN, he is able to feel and grieve together with other characters (like Digory Kirke, grieving over his mother). Again, he is that Christ-figure symbol in the books, so that does it for me.
Maybe I'd like to meet the White Witch - partially because I've always been into villains - but also because I would like to know what makes her "tick," and to know her history.
There, now - you asked for one character and I gave you two. ;)

He is real! Remember when he was invisible in PC? That didn't make him any less real. He is real in our world and goes by the name of Jesus Christ, CS Lewis as much as said so!
Welcome to the forum, Believer. I hope didn't see you post before. I hope your screen name means that you are a believer in Christ? If so, then you already know Aslan, and he is guiding you right now. :D
If you don't know Christ, please check out Inkspot's Thread of Amazing Grace for many wonderful reasons why you should.
CS Lewis said that the story of Jesus Christ on earth was a "true myth," a fairy tale that we can believe in, because it really happened, and the change that it made for all mankind was this: once we were separated from our true home in paradise, but now we can know that we are headed there when we leave this earth.
I'll shut up now ... :o

I can't say that I am a true believe in Christ, but I can say that I believe in something greater than ourselves.
Also, I love that Lewis chose Aslan to be a lion. Lions are amazing animals...so noble and majestic and wise...and I've always thought that it would be amazing if animals could speak to us in a language we can understand so that we might learn from them.
Maybe I'm posting in the wrong forums...because I would not consider myself to be Christian (yet that does not mean I am against many of the things the religion teaches). It seems that many of you are Christian and I don't want to offend anyone by sharing my opinions.
And...I just want to add that Reep would have to be my second favourite character, because he demonstrates through his character the qualities that seem to be missing in many people, one of the most important ones being honour.

Reep was cool, I agree. I like Eustace when he was a dragon. What a learning experience for him! (and all of us) How ugly we can become when we pursue self and worldly things!
I am a Christian and I certainly am not offended. Your opinion is valuable and you are being honest. I know many people who claim to be Christian but the fruit of their lives suggests otherwise. And Christianity is more of a relationship than a religion, much like the children and Aslan had.

lol, i played susan in a play (i'm very surprised i got that part becuase i have blonde hair.)& i was put as susan in the narniaweb quiz thing... but i find myself to be more like lucy. Except for the fact that like Susan: 1: paranoid 2:scared of alot of things... not bugs. but like... ppl breaking in. For example, i have really good ears, (QUEEN of evesdropping here!) and i will here a machine in house doing something and it sounds to me like someone walking in. (which brings me back to paraniod!) oh ya... and i guess thats all you need to hear to see that i guess i really am like susan. anyway... i'd probably want to meet... Peter (of course aslan, everyone wants to meet aslan!)

Instead, I want to meet him to find out what Aslan said to him in LWW (if he would like to tell, of course. No one is forcing him :)) I would also want to meet Susan to convince her that Narnia is real.

I would have to say Susan to try to bring her back to her senses. I would tell her how I had fallen away for a time as well, and that she will only find meaninglessness and "a chasing after the wind" if she continues down the path she is in at the end of Last Battle.
I think she would come around eventually, because after all, "Once a King or Queen of Narnia, always a King or Queen."

Lucy or Reepicheep. =) Lucy because well .. she has such faith and she's always the one to believe first, and to go to Aslan for help. and reepicheep because he wasn't afraid of anything and in VOTDT he was so determined to reach Aslan's Country that he was willing to die trying to get there. (and because my friend at school is a big reepicheep fan; i would try to bring him along to meet him, too. ;-) )

However I would want to meet Edmund because he is so much like me. Especially in PC and the VDT

Well, at first I would say I would want to meet Aslan, because of the symbolism, and plus he is just a great example of how we should live.
BUT, I would prolly want to meet Mr. Tumnus. I have always thought about that since i was like 6 years old, or the White Stag, cause then I would get a wish, and that would be to stay in Narnia forever.

I really admire Charn_Tim's assertion that he would meet Susan in order to warn her. That's the best answer I've seen so far.
Still I ache for Aslan even though he would scold me for the times I've disappointed him. When you get to be my age, you'll understand. He would scold me, but he would also love me, even as he loves me now. But even with all the faith in the world I need to put my hands on his mane. I have a sister that I absolutely have faith in. There is no question that she exists and loves me but I need to see her and touch her once in a while.
Charn_Tim, if you were here I'd give you that hug instead. I think Aslan would approve.
