I think they're two different films; but if it's the one I'm thinking of, they're both good. One premiered on Hallmark Channel Dec. 9 (I know that because I recorded it because we were going to see LWW in theaters) and the other one: C.S. Lewis: Dreamer of Narnia was the third disc in the EE.

And then his life: Shadowlands.
I LOVED the 3rd disc on the EE!!!!!
Shadowlands is good too.
I just got another DVD on Lewis for my birthday...it may be the other one you were talking about. I haven't gotten to watch it yet.
I so wish I could have met Lewis in person...I'm not old enough though. Guess I'll have to wait to go further up and further in for that! :D

Concerning "Shadowlands": there have been two versions of that, not counting a live-stage version. The first version, made on a low budget and starring Joss Ackland as Mr. Lewis, was excellent. But the big-screen version starring Anthony Hopkins plainly showed the influence of a director with an anti-Christian bias. That later version intentionally portrayed Mr. Lewis as a much weaker and less wise person than he was in reality. For instance, the later version showed him repeating the same lecture over and over, as if he had a shortage of ideas! Most notably, where the first version shows Mr. Lewis recovering his faith as DID really happen, the later version ends with him NOT recovering it. Also, where the REAL Mr. Lewis used the expression "Shadowlands" to refer to this life being less real than Heaven, the second movie changed this to mean ONLY a reference to the uncertainty of the future WITHIN this life.
This created an occasion for me to discover that, whatever else one may say about Douglas Greshem, he has a mind of his own. When I wrote to him to express my disappointment with the big-screen "Shadowlands," he wrote back to say that he saw nothing wrong with it! Go figure.

The wardrobes don't really look much alike. It would still be an interesting trip though to go to Wheaton College. Hope you have fun. I still haven't looked at the other DVD on Lewis yet...maybe this weekend I'll get there.

I have the DVD. Haven't watched much of it yet but it does seem to give a lot of good background on C.S. Lewis.

The original release of CON: LWW didn't have a lot on Lewis, but the 3rd disc of the EE does. It's wonderful. The other DVD I have is ok, but it's not nearly as good as CS Lewis, Dreamer of Narnia. It has a longer title that I can't remember so I'll look it up later. I think the best one on Lewis so far is in the EE.

The bonus material does contain a few small mistakes, like saying that Shasta in HHB is a Narnian rather than an Archenlander.
