Have you guys seen the Passion? (Directed by Mel Gibson) Tell me what you thought about it.
Me? Very moving, (Don't think me a whimp, but I cried almost the whole way through) It sticks pretty much to the gospels and in whole an amazing peice of work!
It's now one of my favorite films. And if you haven't seen it, belive me it is worth watching!!!

'Passion' was one of the most horrific, moving films I've ever seen. It left me feeling totally stunned and in awe of the actual making of the film, and also the true violent story behind the Crucifiction..I'd never really imagined how terrible it would have been until I'd seen Mr Gibson's presentation. It certainly opened my eyes the life and sacrifice of Christ.

If you want a real eye-opener, try reading a classic book called Doctor at Calvary (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0912141042/103-7859136-8623035?v=glance&n=283155&s=books&v=glance)

A surgeon looks at the experience of crucifixion - how it killed, and what it must have felt like. I think Gibson drew on that as a resource. It's gruesome, but enlightening. Here's another interesting fact: serious historical researchers suggest that Pilate had Christ flogged in an attempt to get him out of crucifixion either by offering it as a severe enough punishment (which he tried), or that he might die under the lash because it was a kinder death than crucifixion!

I think that actor was tremendous. His was the toughest acting job in the whole film, and he lived up to it. No disrespect, of course, but Jim Caviezel didn't have much of an acting challenge playing Jesus (though what he did was great). Pilate was much more challenging.

Im only 13 - so I can't watch it!

It sounds good, although my Granddad said that if Jesus had been put through as much pain and suffering as he was in the film, he would have been dead before he was hung on the cross.

I see where Mel Gibson is coming from though, trying to re-create what it must have been like for Jesus on his last hours on earth. :)

It was weird:

I read in a newspaper that the guy who played Jesus, whilst on the mountain, was struck by lightning!

strange!

I'm 13 too, and it took me along time to convince my mum to let me watch it.

No, your Grandad is wrong, my friend did research on it & other crusifictions and well...that's what it was like...And people really can go through alot before they die...

I've seen the Passion twice, and I have to say that it is the saddest movie I've ever seen.
