People are debating wether or not to air Steve Irwins death!
Its sick! The media is simply trying to make money. If at all it should be up to Terri Irwin. Not the lust of the public!

The whole story is there. I left a comment. I doubt it shows. But I hope they read it. My own mother thinks this is sick. I'm sure they aren't going to air it.

The media might be getting e-mails from people who want to see on video how he died. Terry Irwin should be the one to authorize it, but I really think this thread is pointless since you're just saying that the media airing Steve's death is sick and immoral.

It is sick to have a debat about this. I admit, I wasn't a fan of all his shows, but I watched it, because Animal Planet is always on here on television in my home. Steve Irwin has done many good things and yes, sometimes he was a bit too rushing, but that has nothing to do with his personality.
It is sick to blame a person about animal abuse after his death. Two vets in my country also were discussing about him, being cruel to animals and I rather don't write what I thought. But it is sick and completely immoral. This man has done so much. He has pointed our noses on some critical issues, like exstinction of some species and rain forrest. he has made us look at the modren technology with his New breed vets program which I absolutely loved.
People should not even make these horrible discussions.
Australia lost a great personality and two children lost their dad and a wife is now a widow. Some people has nothing better to do than making miserable jokes or inappropriate debats in time of grieve.
I respected this man and fortunately the majority of the world respected him as well.

Its not done for the money- the queen mother's funeral was aired and people mourned. Lots of australians liked him and he was described vy the prime minister as an ambassador for the country. but i agree that is should be up to his wife and father.

Its not his funeral. Its how he died. When the sting ray stabbed him. They want to air that for money

I realize there's an aspect of philosophical discussion here, but the primary thrust seems to be opinions and dispute about a current news item. This is only tangentially related to philosophy in general and seems unrelated to Lewis or Narnia. I'm going to provisionally lock this thread; if anyone can present a serious argument why it should be reopened, please PM me and we'll discuss it.
