I'm not sure if this is the right section for this thread, nor do I know if another thread such as this has been started already. If one has could someone please show me? Otherwise, I'd like to know what you all though about cussing/swearing. Is it a sin? Is it wrong? They are just words after all. What do you all think? Even when we do not use cuss words we tend to use other words in their place which just imply the same meaning anyways... Just would like to know everyone else's thoughts about this. :) ~Nf~

the thing with swaering is it shows what is inside you. Someone who lets a lot of bad words out has a lot of bad stuff in there hart. That said, the dificlty is that evryone has a difent idea of what a swar word os. Some are acpted by nearlly everyone as wrong ( Im not going to repeat what they are) but some are seen as swar worlds by some but not others. The best way to overcame this is by looking at what you mean when you are saying them and what intent you have.

I don't really swear but when I do it just kinda comes out, I don't try to swear and I don't try not to. I'm not intending bad things usually. Mostly when I'm mad about something or frustrated, and I would never swear in some kind of way that would ever use the Lord's name in vain. So is that okay then?

I swear...but I don't really like that I do it; I find it offensive when someone swears at me, yet I swear a lot and don't find it so when I myself do it. I picked it up from my parents, who swear a great deal. Personally, I believe it's wrong, but some words I don't consider swear words, even though I know people who do and I debate with them about it and stuff. >_<

Let me be up front. The purpose of this post is to explain why I am going to lock this thread.
The decision to make the forum family friendly is a value judgment on our part. Protecting the free exchange of ideas does not protect every possible method of communication. You may say the glass is half full or half empty, but not paint it on a brick and toss it through your neighbor's window.
Every idea in the heritage of humankind from the vilest hatred that ever led one man to hideously torture another to death to the noblest sacrifice that led Jesus to the cross for all mankind can all be expressed without profanity.
Matter of factly your health teacher can teach you how to apply birth control contraceptives without resorting to profanity.
I therefore lock this ##()$* #$#(* thread....
