I just got the The Chronicles of Narnia Adult CD Box Set in the mail today and it is great. With narrators such as Patrick Stewart and Michael York this is quality work. :D

I've never heard of this box set. What makes it "adult" ?

Good Q. If they're just narrating the stories, there couldn't be any "adult content."
Thanx for the tip though, Timmy, it sounds great.

Don't know, that is how it is discribed as in Amazon.com They may mean Audio. It is put out by HarperCollins and it is an unabridged reading in 7 CD's. :p
Barnes and Noble calls it the The Chronicles of Narnia Unabridged CD Box Set
HarperCollins.com call it The Chronicles of Narnia Adult Unabridged CD Box Set It may have to do with the formating or the cover format. :D

Lots of books have Adult and Children Editions (see the Harry Potter books). It has to do with the cover and the formating of the edition. The publisher will do two editions but the Adult one cover is designed to appeal to the adult eye more.

I often listen to audio books at work and those CoN cds are among my favorite (next to the LOTR dramatized version).

I'm listening to HHB (read by Alex Jennings) now because it is my favorite CON book. Next I plan to listen to MN. It has been so long since I read that book, and listening to it will be easier. Kenneth Branagh does the reading. ;)

audio versions can be great. did anyone else grow up listening to the michael hordon recordings with the harp music? i don't think i've ever listened to a better narration of any book, than those tapes. for years i used to fall asleep listening to them.

No, but I fell asleep to them too. My daddy would read them to me when I was a wee lass.
