NarniaFans Mailbag

November 2, 2006

Welcome to Mailbag #14. Read on, and then submit your own letters via our contact form.

Q: HI AGAIN! You know how on the home page of this site, you always post news about Narnia, well I was wondering, where do you find out about it and how do you get it onto the site so quickly?? It's so good!

-Nellie

A: Hello! I have many many resources for the news about Narnia. Here's what I do. First, I check my e-mail. People, such as yourself, send me news (and it's really appreciated!) when they see that I haven't posted it yet, and the news is important. That's how I got the news of the release date of Prince Caspian before any other website had it up (save for Box Office Mojo). The second thing I do, is visit about 30 different websites that I check daily. I'd subscribe to their RSS feeds, but I like visiting the sites, to be sure I don't miss something cool. I visit them pretty quickly, and daily, sometimes multiple times in a day. That depends on the frequency of updates to the site. I then write up something about the stories that I find that relate to Narnia, C.S. Lewis, or related topics, and put it into our news generator. The site updates, and we're good to go!

Q: I was wondering how much it's going to cost the extended edition in latin america. Thaks, bye.

-Débora "Tomoyo" Martin

A: I hope you don't mind that I just went straight to your question. I have had a busy/sick week, and haven't had a chance to really delve into the mailbag as thoroughly as I usually am. That's also why it's appearing a little late this week.

When it comes to the price of the extended edition, that's a question that I'm not qualified to answer. I'm going to run some answers on Region 4 releases in a future mailbag, and already have people working on the answer as I write this. Information is coming.

Q: Dear Staff,
I plan to enter the contest that is being held over at narnia.com, but I have a few questions regarding the prize winner. If somebody wins the grand prize, then will traveling to the Prince Caspian set interfere with school? In other words, if the winner wins will he/she have to be absent from school a couple of days or so? Or, can they travel to the Prince Caspian set when they get vacation? I know what the grand prize is, but I do not know how it works. Please respond soon! THANKS! And if I enter the contest, please wish me GOOD LUCK!!! THANKYOU!!!

-Narnia Fan (Lilly's Friend)

A: Please do enter! Good Luck on Winning! As for the travel to the set, you'll have to go when they specify. Here's what it says under "Eligibility" on the Official Rules:

To be eligible to enter this Contest, Entrants must be, at the time of entry: (i) a natural person who is a legal resident of the 50 United States (including the District of Columbia) and physically located and residing therein (excluding Guam, Puerto Rico and all other U.S. territories and possessions); (ii) eighteen (18) years of age or older; (iii) a registered user, and in compliance with the terms of use, of the Narnia Website; and (iv) ready, able and willing to travel to the set of the Picture on such date and location as designated by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. Only Entrants who complete all required entry forms and releases and submit materials in accordance with the specifications set forth in these Official Rules or otherwise on the Narnia Website contest page will be eligible for entry. Other forms and releases will be required in order to accept the Grand Prize (as set forth below.)
And that's it for Mailbag #14!
