Bill Nighy cast as Reepicheep in Voyage of the Dawn Treader

The actor, Bill Nighy, has taken over the role of Reepicheep for the third film in the series. You may best know him as Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

No reason for the recasting has been given.

Please see the video below. In it, you’ll hear his voice.

Regardless of his knowledge of the character, I think his voice is much more regal. It carries real weight that Izzard may not have been able to display. I loved Izzard, but I think Nighy will own the role. Especially with the scenes he is in, in this film.

Dawn Treader Movie Blog: “Falling in Love in Narnia”

At long last, the story that I’ve been waiting so long to reveal to the world.  Here is a very special Narnia story, that happened last fall, as described by publicist Ernie Malik.

What is it like to fall in love in Narnia?

by Ernie Malik

A curious question you may think. We bring it up here, while cruising along on our third voyage through this wondrous world created by C.S. Lewis, because the wonder of love did happen…to six couples who worked on both the first and second film adaptations.

Narnia.com Returns

After Disney left the project, the official website at Narnia.com was left hanging.  Nobody was quite sure what would become of it, and for a while the link acted sort of funny.  If you went to narnia.com, it would go to a 404 page at Disney.com.  If you went to www.narnia.com, it would go to the HarperCollins Children’s books section on the Chronicles of Narnia books.

One really cool thing that happens when you move your cursor around on the site is that stars seem to follow it around.  It’s all very magical, though somewhat plain, because it is so new.

Dawn Treader Movie Blog: “Diving Right In” — Blog #1

Kicking off the year of the Voyage of the Dawn Treader with a new blog, and a fresh start, is the first blog on the new official Narnia fan page on Facebook.  It’s a fan page that is directed primarily at the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which is the reason for the change.  Things will still be coming to our page under “Chronicles of Narnia, but for the sake of avoiding confusion, an official page was made for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader alone.  On it, the studio has decided to restart the blog with an entry about Skandar Keynes.

Arabella Morton plays Gael in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Much has been speculated about the “Mysterious Little Girl” or “MLG” that was seen on the set of the Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I have been sitting on this young lady’s name for many months now, as I was instructed. But now that the news has broken, I guess I’ll also report about it.

Arabella Morton plays the role of Gael in the film, and there has been speculation about the role that the character plays in the film, as she doesn’t appear in the book.  What makes her an important part of the story as it plays out on film?  Well, there is some speculation!

Ben Barnes talks Dawn Treader filming vs. Prince Caspian

Just an FYI about the entirety of the interview, Barnes recently starred in an adaptation of Dorian Gray, which is an old novel with adult subject matter.  The interview got interesting though, for Narnia fans when the subject turned to The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.  I’ve censored the interview a bit to keep it family friendly, but if you want to, you can read the whole article at the source.

There’s another article about the Dawn Treader in the February 2010 edition of Empire Magazine.  This time the Australian edition of the magazine.  According to the article, the Dawn Treader ship itself cost $2.3 million to build.  It also features a quote from director Michael Apted about the substance of the film itself, that should bring a higher level of confidence for fans.
