Adam Sibley e-mailed us from the Talented Young People organization. They are a non-profit organization set up to help young people. They’ve nominated four of the actors from Prince Caspian for their Talented Young Person of the Month Award for July which is celebrating the release of Prince Caspian. Below is the information. Voting closes the last day of July.

Talented Young Person of the Month Award – July Nominees

To celebrate the release of Prince Caspian the latest film in the Chronicles of Narnia series we only have four nominees for the July award and those four nominees are the awesome four young actors who play four of the lead roles.

Georgie Henley – Lucy Pevensie

Georgie Henley is a precocious twelve year old who the fans of the new Narnia Film series have taken to their hearts. In Prince Caspian she has a lot of on screen time and gives a brilliant performance which plays a big part in why the film has been so greatly received. The Chronicles of Narnia is Georgie’s first work in film but I’m sure when the series ends she will have people beating down her door to work with her.

Skandar Keynes – Edmund Pevensie

Skandar Keynes was born in to a very successful family with many different members of his family tree excelling in various fields including writing and radio. It could have all been so different for Skandar as at the same time he auditioned for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe he was auditioning for a role in Nanny McPhee and if he had been successful in that and not in his Narnia audition then his career may have gone down a different path.

William Moseley – Peter Pevensie

William is the oldest out of all four young people playing the roles of the Pevensie siblings at the age of 21. Again The Chronicles of Narnia is his first film work although he did have a few small parts in some TV programmes. William has wanted to act since the age of ten and even went to audition for the role of Harry Potter when it was originally cast.

Anna Popplewell – Susan Pevensie

Out of all four Anna has the most acting experience with her first major credit coming in the film Mansfield Park in 1999. Since then she has gone on to a star in a variety or projects until she landed the role of Susan for The Chronicles of Narnia. Not only is Anna a talented actress but she is talented in the classroom to as she currently studies at Oxford University. Anna has won awards for her portrayal of Susan and was even nominated for a Teen Choice Award.

Georgie Henley and Skander Keynes, better known to us Narnia Fans as Lucy and Edmund Pevensie, now have featured bumpers for the Disney Channel. The videos are certainly worth watching a couple times.

Yes, Skander and Georgie may not be what we think of when it comes to the “Disney Channel Stars” or even of Disney in general, but the adds themselves do work and it gives the movie more coverage.

SpoilerTV has been able to obtain some new exclusive promotional pictures for the new The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian movie.

Walt Disney Pictures’ epic film, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, based on C.S. Lewis’ timeless tale, comes to life through Robert Tonner’s collection of TONNER CHARACTER FIGURES™ (TCF).

MoviesOnline.ca is reporting that “according to Production Charts CS Lewis’s novel ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader‘ has gone into development.”

They report that there is no word on a cast or director, but we know well, by now, that Michael Apted is attached to direct, and Ben Barnes, Liam Neeson, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley and Eddie Izzard are all signed to reprise their roles.

A whole slew of Narnia and other film site journalists got the chance of a lifetime: to visit the set of Prince Caspian in Prague. It’s cool, I’ve got my passport ready for the next one.

Anyway, here we’ll start with our sister site NarniaWeb, where glumPuddle has interviews with William Moseley and Skandar Keynes.

William Moseley

Q: So, we heard you did some horse stunts?

William: Yeah, we did some horse stunts. Recently, I did the biggest horse stunt I’ve ever done. I had to… Actually it sounds pretty crazy even to me. But I basically had to chase a running horse, I had to grab onto the saddle, I had to kick a guy while the horse was running and I had to jump onto the back of the horse, and carry on going…all in a courtyard at four in the morning and it was raining.

Q: Did you do that yourself?

William: Yeah, I did that myself. It was easy [laughs]. The thing was, like, it’s funny when you do stunts like that, because you know you can do it, and if you’re not quite getting it, then…I don’t know, you want to do it again and again and again, but you don’t really realize how dangerous it is at the time, until you look back and go, “Oh, at take 7, I probably should have taken a break.’

Q: How many takes did you do?

William: Seven. That’s all I was allowed. I wanted to do eight, but seven was all I was allowed. Two were perfect, five I was kind of like, holding on for dear life a couple of times.

Q: Were there any wires involved?

William: No wires, no. It was good, though. It was really fun. They must have a lot of faith in me.

Q: Are you ready for the fight?

William: You know, last week I was really worried about it, because I haven’t really have much chance to train for it. Like I said, I think they have quite a lot of faith in me with these stunts, so they think, ‘Oh, he doesn’t really need the training,’ but it’s an over-one-hundred beat fight, so I’m sort of thinking, ‘I think I might need a bit more training than this,’ and they’re like ‘No, you’ll be fine, you’ll be fine, you’ll be fine.’ We were meant to shoot it last Wednesday, and it’s Monday today, so I was really lucky that the weather hasn’t been so good. Few more days practice.

Q: Do you actually practice with Sergio Castellito (Miraz)?

William: Yep, I fight against him. But mostly, what’s really cool is the stunt coordinator’s going to double Miraz. So, the stunt coordinator and I have a really good connection and a good understanding, like, he’s taught me all of everything I know, so it’s going to be a good one-on-one.

Skandar Keynes

Q: So what’s it like to come back for a second time around?

Skandar: It’s been really cool. It’s been really great to see everyone again and like, reuniting the family, to be very cheesy. Yeah, it’s been great here in the middle of nowhere, it’s beautiful. And what we’re doing is really cool, we’re like walking out [of Aslan's How] and everyone is [cheering]. So I’m having a good time.

Q: So in the movie, Edmund is only a year older. But you’re actually a few years older?

Skandar: Yeah, I was 12 when I started the first film and I’m 15 now. I’ll be 16 at the end of the shoot.

Q: I remember last time they had problems with you growing too much…

Skandar: Yeah, I grew 6 inches in 6 months. I felt growing pains last night actually. (laughter)

Q: The costume department said they have a computer program now to determine the patterns and how to make the costumes fit as you guys grow and keep them consistent.

Skandar: I had the chainmail, and I kept growing. And it’s precise enough that if I grew, it would completely change underneath.

Q: Did you wear chainmail in the last movie too?

Skandar: Yeah, I’m actually wearing a lot less now.

Q: I bet you wish you were wearing it now after getting stabbed in the leg. (laughter)

Skandar: Oh yeah, [Will] totally just stabbed my leg! He draws his sword and then moves it back but as he moved it back it went “bang” on my leg. Just went right on my boot!

In “The Chronicles of Narnia,” the four Pevensie children are evacuated from London during the Blitz and sent to stay with an elderly professor in a house in the countryside. Last Wednesday evening, in an old Ottoman villa in West Beirut, Skandar Keynes, the fourteen-year-old actor who played Edmund Pevensie in last year’s film of “Narnia,” his mother, Zelfa, and his grandfather, Cecil Hourani, were packing their things and getting ready to evacuate. Two days before the Israeli attacks on Hezbollah began, on July 12th, they had arrived from Britain for their annual summer holiday in Lebanon, and had found themselves stranded there along with thousands of other foreign tourists. They had, in fact, been about to leave Beirut for the Hourani ancestral home in the ancient town of Marjeyoun, near the frontier with Israel. Marjeyoun is very close to the current fighting, and before being taken over by Hezbollah it had been the longtime headquarters of the Christian militia. Except for 2004, when Skandar was filming “Narnia” and the family decamped with him to the set in New Zealand, he has spent every summer of his life there.

Outside the walls of the villa, closely packed modern tower blocks rose all around. It is a noisome neighborhood of narrow streets jammed with people, scooters, and men pushing carts. Quite a few women wear head scarves. On a building in the next block a large banner in support of Sheikh Nasrallah could be seen. A half an hour before they were due to leave Beirut, Zelfa packed the car with their belongings, and Cecil waited by the front door, clearly edgy about the night journey ahead. Skandar chatted in the living room, a place of high timbered ceilings and flaking plaster, adorned with bronze pots and Chinese painted-silk panels of peacocks.

Skandar, a slim, handsome boy with tousled dark hair, was wearing a “Scarface” T-shirt over baggy shorts and blue canvas Vans. He said he had been looking forward to Marjeyoun, where he planned to spend his days swimming and reading. He had brought along his guitar, and hoped to catch up on some movies. “I don’t turn fifteen until September, and back in England I can only go to under-fifteens, which is frustrating,” he said. “Here in Lebanon they don’t care about age limits, and I can see any movies I like.” The day after Beirut’s airport was bombed, he’d gone to the cinema in Beirut where the new “Pirates of the Caribbean” was supposed to première; the theatre owners had turned him away, explaining that they hadn’t been able to fly in the reel. He added that he was a big fan of Johnny Depp. “He’s the man,” he said.
