Adam Sibley e-mailed us from the Talented Young People organization. They are a non-profit organization set up to help young people. They’ve nominated four of the actors from Prince Caspian for their Talented Young Person of the Month Award for July which is celebrating the release of Prince Caspian. Below is the information. Voting closes the last day of July.

Talented Young Person of the Month Award – July Nominees

To celebrate the release of Prince Caspian the latest film in the Chronicles of Narnia series we only have four nominees for the July award and those four nominees are the awesome four young actors who play four of the lead roles.

Georgie Henley – Lucy Pevensie

Georgie Henley is a precocious twelve year old who the fans of the new Narnia Film series have taken to their hearts. In Prince Caspian she has a lot of on screen time and gives a brilliant performance which plays a big part in why the film has been so greatly received. The Chronicles of Narnia is Georgie’s first work in film but I’m sure when the series ends she will have people beating down her door to work with her.

Skandar Keynes – Edmund Pevensie

Skandar Keynes was born in to a very successful family with many different members of his family tree excelling in various fields including writing and radio. It could have all been so different for Skandar as at the same time he auditioned for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe he was auditioning for a role in Nanny McPhee and if he had been successful in that and not in his Narnia audition then his career may have gone down a different path.

William Moseley – Peter Pevensie

William is the oldest out of all four young people playing the roles of the Pevensie siblings at the age of 21. Again The Chronicles of Narnia is his first film work although he did have a few small parts in some TV programmes. William has wanted to act since the age of ten and even went to audition for the role of Harry Potter when it was originally cast.

Anna Popplewell – Susan Pevensie

Out of all four Anna has the most acting experience with her first major credit coming in the film Mansfield Park in 1999. Since then she has gone on to a star in a variety or projects until she landed the role of Susan for The Chronicles of Narnia. Not only is Anna a talented actress but she is talented in the classroom to as she currently studies at Oxford University. Anna has won awards for her portrayal of Susan and was even nominated for a Teen Choice Award.

Interview with the Pevensies by Newsweek

The Pevensie children couldn’t have been better cast. William Moseley plays Peter, who must lead an army. Anna Popplewell plays cautious Susan. Skandar Keynes is devious Edmund. And Georgie Henley is openhearted little Lucy. On the set in New Zealand, the cast gave one of its first interviews to NEWSWEEK’s Jeff Giles.

ANNA POPPLEWELL, 16: Georgie’s and my costumes have all this long, authentic 1940s underwear. One day we were hot and complaining, and I said, “Oh, I’ve got so much underwear on!” Skandar had this look on his face like he was not comfortable.
GEORGIE HENLEY, 10: It was a very uncomfortable conversation.
WILLIAM MOSELEY, 18: Skandar has girls’ disease, which is a, um, mild form of hating all women.
SKANDAR KEYNES, 14: No, I don’t! Just people who are older and scarier.
ANNA: Anyway, ever since, we’ve teased Skandar about his phobia of women’s underwear. So for his birthday we chose the pinkest, tackiest, smallest G-string we could find and wrapped it in pink tissue paper.
WILLIAM: The look on his face was the same look that the White Witch uses to turn creatures into stone.

When did you first read the “Narnia” books?
ANNA:
I was 7 when I read them.
SKANDAR: I was 8.
GEORGIE: I was 6.
ANNA: Georgie’s very smart.
WILLIAM: Georgie’s a very good reader. One of the assistant directors will come up and say, “OK, school time, everyone,” and Skandar and I will roll our eyes. And the girls will be like…
ANNA and GEORGIE: “Yaaaaaaay!”[Laughter]

Narnia Set Piece: The Pevensie House!

Tehanu returns with an actual set piece this time. While last time, the set looked very Narnian, it turned out to be for Hercules. This time, it’s for real. A picture of the top of the London house where the Pevensie children lived.

Well, I’m being a bit more cautious naming the sets that are springing up around town here in West Auckland, New Zealand. The first one HAD to be a Narnia set– it was sticking out above the fence around the Lion, Witch & Wardrobe lot where the soundstages are. And to make doubly certain, I asked their publicist Ernie Malik about what you see in these first two pictures, and he confirmed that it’s the London house that the Pevensie children lived in before going to their uncle’s house in the country where their adventure started. In one photo it looks like a very ordinary house with a few roses peeking over the fence. In the other photo it’s a bit clearer that only the front half of the house exists, and in the background are the warehouses that house the soundstages for the production. It looks grey and drab and wartime-y.

Pictures!
