We’ve received a few reports over the past couple of days, but with the Labor Day holiday, I’ve been busy and could not get to them until now. First, here’s a couple of new pictures of the Dawn Treader. One of them includes the Sail, completely unfurled and open. It’s likely that they’ll digitally add many more sails to the ship in post production, but it is both purple, as expected, and amazing.
In the last day or so, the crew has been testing the hydraulics system that will make the ship sway like it is on water. They’ve got the ropes complete, if not very nearly so, and they’ve got a familiar-looking lantern at the top of the rear mast. On a closer inspection, it’s definitely not the same lantern, which is good, because that would likely have caused a controversy. But it is a great part of the ship that really makes it feel more Narnian than viking.
