The Dawn Treader - All Together - Mast & Prow Attached

The Dawn Treader - All Together - Mast & Prow Attached

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader won’t be in theatres until December 10, 2010, but we’ve got a full length picture of the ship with the prow attached, today!  There’s also a mast attached, and it looks like there are still some more parts to be attached, but they’ll only make it more beautiful than it already is.  I could not have imagined a ship as beautiful as this, and it’s about time that it’s coming together for the shoot next week.  I can’t wait to see it with a full mast, completely together.  It’s definitely a boat that I would love to sail on.   The pictures come by way of Narnia Fans Spies ‘Hiromi’ and ‘Ben.’

More Dawn Treader Photos: See the Dragon Prow

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

The Dawn Treader is really taking shape, as the Dragon Prow is now in full view.  We’ve received some photos from the set.  NarniaFans Spy ‘Hiromi’ managed a few shots that really get me excited to see the completed ship.  This thing looks absolutely huge.  We’re talking at least three stories tall, and that’s not including the Dragon Prow itself.  Take a look at these awesome pictures.  It doesn’t look like it’ll be much longer before the prow and the wings are attached, in time for filming to begin on the ship later this month.  This is our first look at the Dragon Prow, unobstructed by a fence: the head and neck of the dragon.  Take a look, it’s looking more and more beautiful every time we get more pictures of it!

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Wow, it’s funny how a week can get away from you.  Especially when you’ve got a talkative painter working on your house, and you’re working from home simultaneously.  It’s been a busy week, and people have been informing me about my Harry Potter question from last week.  The interesting thing is that they pointed out some very interesting things.  See the previous mailbag for more details of that.  We’ve also had some very exciting things happening in the way of set photos and things.

The Dawn Treader being built at ‘The Spit’?

Monday, July 6th, 2009

It has been but a few hours since I speculated on the name of the production company that they were using for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader when this story comes in, from the Gold Coast:  They are building a set for the movie at ‘The Spit.’  It’s a huge set that is believed to be a fake ship.  The set gave away the ’secret location’ that the Narnia movie executives have been tight-lipped about. Updated with a sign posted there.
