Dawn Treader Movie Blog: “Diving Right In” — Blog #1

Kicking off the year of the Voyage of the Dawn Treader with a new blog, and a fresh start, is the first blog on the new official Narnia fan page on Facebook.  It’s a fan page that is directed primarily at the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which is the reason for the change.  Things will still be coming to our page under “Chronicles of Narnia, but for the sake of avoiding confusion, an official page was made for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader alone.  On it, the studio has decided to restart the blog with an entry about Skandar Keynes.

Congratulations, Mr. Tumnus!  Actor James McAvoy, the actor that played Mr. Tumnus in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and his wife of four years, Anne-Marie Duff, are expecting their first child!

Dame Helen Mirren, who appears alongside the couple in the movie The Last Station, said she thought the news was “fantastic.”

She added: “It’s wonderful news and it couldn’t happen to a greater couple.

Get Lost ‘Narnia Song’ by Evanescence by donating to Haiti

Amy's artwork for the song Together Again

It was originally believed that the Evanescence song “Good Enough” has parts of the song they wrote for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe before it was cut from the soundtrack to the film.  It was recently revealed that there may be another couple of songs.  The one we’re not sure of is “Lacrymosa,” and the other song is called “Together Again.”  “Together Again” is available to anyone that is willing to donate $5 to Haiti by way of the United Nations.  A minimum of $5 is required to get the download.

Arabella Morton plays Gael in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Much has been speculated about the “Mysterious Little Girl” or “MLG” that was seen on the set of the Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I have been sitting on this young lady’s name for many months now, as I was instructed. But now that the news has broken, I guess I’ll also report about it.

Arabella Morton plays the role of Gael in the film, and there has been speculation about the role that the character plays in the film, as she doesn’t appear in the book.  What makes her an important part of the story as it plays out on film?  Well, there is some speculation!

Ben Barnes talks Dawn Treader filming vs. Prince Caspian

Just an FYI about the entirety of the interview, Barnes recently starred in an adaptation of Dorian Gray, which is an old novel with adult subject matter.  The interview got interesting though, for Narnia fans when the subject turned to The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.  I’ve censored the interview a bit to keep it family friendly, but if you want to, you can read the whole article at the source.

Offbeat: Narnia Lamp-Post becomes part of L.A. Live

If you want to see some lamp-posts from the Chronicles of Narnia film production, you can now find them in L.A., actually in use!  This is a strange way to see some props from the film, and I’m not sure where they appeared (if they were elements of sets for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, part of England in Prince Caspian or The Voyage of the Dawn Treader), however it is still kinda cool that they’re being put into actual use, rather than sitting in storage somewhere for many years.  Not sure if they’re labeled either, the article doesn’t say much about it.

Empire Magazine Australia mentions Dawn Treader

There’s another article about the Dawn Treader in the February 2010 edition of Empire Magazine.  This time the Australian edition of the magazine.  According to the article, the Dawn Treader ship itself cost $2.3 million to build.  It also features a quote from director Michael Apted about the substance of the film itself, that should bring a higher level of confidence for fans.
