Howard Berger Added to IMATS Sydney Roster

Howard BergerOscar® winner Howard Berger and special make-up effects artist Gino Acevedo have been added as guest speakers for the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS), held Sept. 12-13 at the Sydney Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia.

Berger, who won an Oscar® for his work on The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, will take the stage along with the make-up team from Narnia. A Los Angeles native, Berger was hired by Stan Winston to work on Predator and Aliens. Later, Berger was hired by Rick Baker to work on Harry and the Hendersons. In 1988, after working for various studios, Berger and Gregory Nicotero formed their own studio, KNB EFX Group, Inc. in Los Angeles.

Anna Popplewell endorses Shelter, a Charity for the Homeless, with Marathon Run

Anna PopplewellAnna Popplewell is one extremely intelligent girl.  Meeting her in New York last year was pretty intimidating, even though I’m a bit older than she is.  And now she’s doing her part to raise money for a good cause.  She writes:

I am not athletic! However, I am going to attempt to be athletic on 26th April 2009 and run the London marathon in order to raise money for an extremely worthy cause. Shelter is a brilliant charity that targets homelessness in the UK and, particularly homelessness amongst children. One in seven children in Britain are either homeless or living in either overcrowded or poor conditions, and nearly 1.7 million households are on waiting lists for a social rented home.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Exhibition Pulls into Union Station

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Exhibition will open Memorial Day weekend at Union Station Kansas City. The Station becomes the third museum and first in the Midwest to host this exhibition. The Becker Group, Ltd., which recently combined operations with Exhibitgroup/Giltspur, produced the exhibition in partnership with Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media. Based on the blockbuster film series and C.S. Lewis’ beloved fictional books, the 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art entertainment and educational experience offers visitors the opportunity to tour scenes from the famed literary world of Narnia. Through authentic costumes, props and set dressings from the magical Narnia films, visitors will enter a three dimensional world that combines the wonders of science with aspects of fantasy. Voyage of the Dawn Treader has a Release Date

Twentieth Century Fox and Walden Media will release “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” on December 10, 2010.

The move means “Narnia” will once again be a winter franchise, and places it a day past the five year anniversary of the release of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in 2005.
