April 26, 2009

Anna PopplewellAnna Popplewell is one extremely intelligent girl.  Meeting her in New York last year was pretty intimidating, even though I’m a bit older than she is.  And now she’s doing her part to raise money for a good cause.  She writes:

I am not athletic! However, I am going to attempt to be athletic on 26th April 2009 and run the London marathon in order to raise money for an extremely worthy cause. Shelter is a brilliant charity that targets homelessness in the UK and, particularly homelessness amongst children. One in seven children in Britain are either homeless or living in either overcrowded or poor conditions, and nearly 1.7 million households are on waiting lists for a social rented home.

April Fool’s Day 2009: As You Wish!

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Another successful April Fools Day comes and goes.  I couldn’t have asked for a better response than the one that was given by the amount of press that we received from our three major April Fools Day jokes this year.

For our wrap up this year, Jonathon and I are collaborating on this story. We’re both weighing in on the response to the stories that I can take no credit for.  Jonathon is a genius, and he is THE genius behind the April Fool’s Day jokes this year and last.

Natasha RichardsonI was optimistic about her condition, and sadly I was wrong. Aslan’s voice actor Liam Neeson’s wife, actress Natasha Richardson has passed away due to the injuries she suffered while learning how to ski.

It wasn’t but a year ago when I saw her in New York, full of life and I wasn’t really sure what I would have said to her, had I the guts to go up and talk to her.

Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely in negotiations to write Captain America

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are in negotiations to pen Marvel Studios’ “The First Avenger: Captain America.” The dealmaking occurs about a week after Joe Johnston boarded the project as director. Markus and McFeely, repped by UTA, worked on “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and its sequel, “Prince Caspian.” The duo also wrote HBO’s “The Life and Death of Peter Sellers.”

Kicking off with “Iron Man,” Marvel Studios’ slate of movies — including “Thor” and the “Iron Man” sequel — is building toward an “Avengers” movie set for release in 2011, in which the characters from the films team for one big adventure. “Captain America” is scheduled for release May 6, 2011.

Marvel’s “Captain America” will be a World War II-set movie, and the character will appear in the modern day-set “Avengers.”

They are great, and smart, guys and could definitely pull off an awesome Captain America film.
