The Visual Effects Society has nominated Walt Disney’s “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” Universal Pictures’ “King Kong” and 20th Century Fox’s “Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith” for outstanding VFX in a motion picture.

Winners in 20 nomination heats — recognizing outstanding visual effects in the film, television, commercial, music video and game categories — will be announced Feb. 15 at the fourth annual VES Awards at the Hollywood Palladium. “We received over 200 submissions from over a half-dozen countries around the world this year, which mirrors the kind of growth we’re experiencing as a global organization,” VES executive director Eric Roth said.
