Comments on: The Dawn Treader being built at ‘The Spit’?

Hmm . . . interesting.

Looks like only parts of the ship will be built aka ‘Titanic’ with effects work filling in the gaps. The Pauline Baynes illustrations from show a customised Viking longship, this would make sense given they are trying to get to the edge of the world. Hope they keep to the spirit of this.

The first appearance of the Dawn Treader will need to be a set piece of outstanding quality. I’m expecting something as dramatic as the Imperial Star Destroyer from Star Wars IV, where you hear the ship pass over you (and shake the cinema) before it appears on the screen.

Soooo, are they actually building a full-sized ship, or is the Dawn Treader just going to be sets here and there?
